The PrepMD Passport Series provides a self-paced and self-directed learning resource for individuals seeking to start or advance a cardiac medical device clinical specialist career. “Passport Holders” master cardiac anatomy and physiology foundational knowledge and cardiac medical device fundamentals in the following cardiac specialities: CRM, EP, SH, IC, and RM. Learning modalities include high quality lessons and quizzes, animations and graphics, and interactive 3D modules which provide a world-class learning experience to the Passport Holder. Additional Services offered by our placement and staffing entity, PrepMD Professionals LLC include Workshops, Proficiency Assessment and Placement Services. Passport Holders who prove proficiency may gain access to professional and career assistance services offered by PrepMD Professionals.

  • Series 1 - Cardiac Foundations lays the foundation of cardiac anatomy and physiology, rhythm interpretation, cardiovascular disease states, and provides an introduction to CRM, EP, SH and IC technologies.

  • Series 2 - Device Fundamentals strengthens knowledge and understanding of cardiac devices and therapies across Cardiac Rhythm Management, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Cardiology and Structural Heart platforms.

  • Capstone Series - Advanced Pathways & Practical Applications: At the conclusion of Series 2 individuals move on to the Capstone Series: Advanced Pathways where they choose one or more areas of cardiac specialty enabling them to pursue career interests from a suite of in-depth, tailored content in CRM – Cardiac Rhythm Management, EP – Electrophysiology, IC – Interventional Cardiology, SH – Structural Heart, or RM – Remote Monitoring (Remote Monitoring Passport Holders complete Series 1, Series 2, and then move directly into the Remote Monitoring Advanced Pathway).

Access & Duration

The PrepMD Passport Series is asynchronous for a personalized and dynamic schedule, created with the working professional in mind. The Passport Series is completed sequentially and Passport Holders receive 6 months access to each Series, maintaining access only while advancing Series to Series. Total estimated cost ranges between $15,000 and $18,000, and the Passport Holder can complete all the Series at their own pace depending on the amount of time they may be able to allocate to the content.

Pricing

PrepMD Passport Series may be accessed on a Series-to-Series basis, and the total cost for the user may range between $15,000 to $18,000. Certificates & Assessments

Knowledge checks at regular intervals throughout are used for self-assessment purposes, allowing individuals to identify areas of development and master the material. At the culmination of each Series individuals receive a Certificate of Completion. Passport Holders may pursue hands-on learning and receive a Certificate of Proficiency after meeting the standards on the Proficiency Assessment. These individuals have an option to go through an application process in order to access career and placement services from PrepMD Professionals.

Hands-on Learning

PrepMD Professionals provides opportunities to gain hands-on learning and assessment. After completing the Capstone Series, a Passport Holder may sign up for one of the several workshops (optional) offered by PrepMD Professionals. Onsite hands-on learning includes topics such as cardiac procedure simulations, implantable device interrogations, and case study reviews.

Career & Placement Services

Career and Placement Services are available only for Passport Holders who go through an application process after meeting PrepMD Professionals standards on the Proficiency Assessment. Career and Placement Services include resume development, interview preparation and exclusive candidate representation placement services.

Greg has over 18 years of experience in Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) arena. As a Regional Manager with Boston Scientific, he hired and trained a team of sales and clinical representatives while maintaining his own business. He has mentored and developed both sales and clinical reps as they have begun their own careers. Prior to industry, Greg served as a Military Intelligence Officer with the U.S. Army. During eight years of active duty, he served in a variety of key leadership, strategic planning and operations roles. He has extensive experience in planning, directing, and supervising sophisticated training in complex and fast-moving environments.

Susan Stamatis, RN, BSN

Susan has a combined 39 years in cardiology doing a variety of clinical roles such as Assistant Nurse Manager of a Coronary Care Unit and Department Manager in a Device Clinic overseeing the care of 1000+ patients with pacemakers and defibrillators. She also has 25 years of experience in the Cardiac Device Industry working for companies such a Datascope (Maquet) and Boston Scientific. She began her medical device career as a clinical specialist, and was promoted to clinical regional manger and sales representative roles. She is uniquely qualified to teach PrepMD students clinical as well a technical applications of CRM therapy.

Matt Wilson, CCDS

Matt brings 10 years of experience in the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) industry to his role at PrepMD. As an IBHRE®-Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) senior sales representative with Boston Scientific, he managed a successful sales team in the New York City area. Matt is the Director of PrepMD’s contract staffing services division while managing the placement activities and coaching PrepMD students from a professional development standpoint. Prior to industry, Matt served as a Captain in the U.S. Army. He trained and led infantry units while deployed to Iraq, responsible for planning and coordinating joint coalition combat missions.
